The 2009 Race is now in the past. We had 20 planes sign up for the 40th anniversary of the race. Visit our Shutterfly photo site (external link) for a good selestion of photos and videos from this year's event. Until next time — happy flying!

We are sad to report the death of Palms to Pines Race founder, Claire Walters, on January 1, 2010. Those of us who had the privledge to know her over the years truly appreciate her accomplishments. And we were fortunate to have her join us for the 2009 — 40th — Palms to Pines Race. If you wish to read more about this amazing woman, the LA Times article that appeared on January 18, 2010, can be found at
this LA Times link. (external link)

The 99s wish to thank the participants of the Palms to Pines races over the years. In light of Claire's death, we are re-grouping — taking a year off. So do not expect to see a 2010 race. BUT!!! Look again for a new, revitalized race in 2011!! If you have not done so, please ensure you are registered on this site so that as plans form, you WILL be notified!
